Register a Dog

We encourage you to add dogs that you don't own or didn't produce for the purposes of building a pedigree.

Legacy dogs are not registered in the database and are not eligible to be the parent of registered litters.

No fields are required.

You can choose whether to hide this dog from public view above.

Once this dog is approved, you can link it to other dogs in your program through the Add Sire and Add Dam buttons in your dog list.

This is for adding a sire you don't own to the registry. Sex will be set to male automatically.

Breed Verification

An OFA number, external registry number, or DNA panel with breed content is required for breed verification.

Owner Information

If the dog has a microchip number, OFA number, or external registry number, owner information is optional. If none of these are provided, owner contact information is required so we can send them a friendly notification.

Privacy

CDR is committed to respecting the privacy of breeders who choose to participate in breedings that cannot be disclosed to the public. If you have questions or concerns about privacy, email the registrar at registry@companiondogproject.org or call us at 1-855-CDP-DOGS.

Health Testing

Outside studs are eligible for a health testing complete badge. If you want them to be the parent of a verified litter, add their health testing either on registration or from your Program Management page.
